Dr Jacintha Gong

Dr Gong is a highly trained, meticulous ophthalmologist who provides thoughtful, personalised, quality eye care to facilitate the best possible outcomes for her patients. She is fully accredited in both the UK and Australia, holding fellowship with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, reflecting her extensive international experience.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Edinburgh before undertaking specialist ophthalmology training in Scotland, including in-depth subspecialty training in the anterior segment (front of the eye). She also completed an anterior segment observership at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, supported by a competitive travel award. In 2019, she was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist within the UK National Health Service in the East of Scotland. After relocating to Australia in 2024, Dr Gong undertook advanced training at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, where she refined her surgical and clinical expertise managing a broad range of routine and complex eye conditions in adults and children.
Dr Gong has contributed to medical research and training the next generation of eye specialists. She has been an examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Dundee, and a surgical trainer and supervisor for ophthalmology trainees. Dr Gong is known for her conscientious, caring approach and her genuine commitment to helping every patient feel informed and confident in their treatment.
